CLIENT AND DESCRIPTION
The Concept: Balance between Precision and Softness
The objective of this production was to visually translate the intrinsic characteristics of Essence’s Soft & Precise line. In a saturated market like the beauty industry, product photography must not only show the object but also evoke its texture, performance, and chromatic identity.
The project is structured around two complementary creative paths: the dynamism of the “Hero Image” and the narrative rigor of the material “Flat Lays.”
Creative Direction
1. The Hero Image: Dynamism and Suspension
For the main image, I chose a “floating” composition. The pencils float in space, converging toward an ideal center, creating a sense of dynamism that immediately captures attention.
- Lighting Design: A pink background with a soft, radial gradient was designed to provide depth and separate the products from the background, recalling the brand’s chromatic universe.
- Value for the client: This type of photography elevates the product from a simple “counter accessory” to an iconic object, ideal for above-the-line campaigns or for capturing the user’s scroll on social media.
2. Flat Lay and Material Storytelling
In zenithal compositions, focus shifts to the product’s tangibility. Here, the minimalism of the neutral background allows the range’s various shades to stand out brilliantly.
- Texture and Details: Including wood shavings (sharpening residues) is a stylistic choice to emphasize the physical and “artisanal” nature of the tool.
- Color Test: The creamy swatch and simulated graphic stroke showcase the product’s dual benefit: softness in application and precision in the line. This visual combination reassures the end consumer about the product’s performance even before the purchase.
Communicative Value
Every photograph was designed to be a versatile asset. From the formal cleanliness of the group images to the tactile richness of the details, the visual narrative aims to create immediate desire through aesthetic clarity.
It is not just about representing a pencil, but about telling the experience of use through a refined and professional aesthetic.
